totally forgot to document that ethan was named student of the month! there was even an assembly where they call of the students of the month up in front of the whole school. each student of the month receives a certificate and homework pass from the principal and gets to stay after to shake hands with the principal and chat with him while he signs their certificates.

eric and i found out the news the same day eric got a raise from work. i think we were more excited about our shy little ethan being student of the month. :) ethan smiled a LOT whenever we shared with others that he was student of the month.

the tuesday following the student of the month assembly ethan showed me a sticker he got from his teacher.

cool, ethan! did you get that because you were a good boy?
"no, miss gore said that whoever was the the quietest student would get a sticker. and i was the quietest."
of course you were, ethan. that made a lot of sense. ethan had that one in the bag.
